Werkplaats immaterieel erfgoed en de UNESCO-leerstoel van de Vrije Universiteit Brussel verzorgden de gastredactie voor een themanummer van het academische tijdschrift Volkskunde over de relatie tussen musea en immaterieel erfgoed. De publicatie vloeit voort uit het internationale project Intangible Cultural Heritage and Museums Project (IMP) en vult eerdere uitgaven aan met theoretische reflecties en (inter)nationale casestudies. Centraal staat hoe musea en erfgoedgemeenschappen samen kunnen werken aan het borgen van levende tradities.
